Rain Drops

In the pool, we all enjoyed the torrential downpour. I let myself float on the water, the rain falling straight to my face. As I looked blankly at the grey sky, the rain now only a drizzle, I tried to follow every single drop of water falling from such a height into the pool. I wonder how something coming from the huge and fathomless ocean must be feeling in this tiny, shallow pool of ours? In the sea it must have traveled thousands of miles for hundreds of years before being picked up by this cloud and eventually being dropped in the pool. There is so much memory in that single drop of water. The storms it has seen, the waves it has ridden, the mysteries it knows. It comes down from the sky as a guest in our pool, soon the clouds will carry it away to some place unknown.

I do not know why, but it made me humble.
